Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities similar to other preschool programs. In addition, they receive medical and dental care, and have a healthy breakfast and lunch daily. The children come to school 5 days a week for 4 hours per day. Readiness activities for kindergarten are incorporated throughout the year. The Head Start personnel consists of a director, disabilities coordinator, health/nutrition coordinator, social services/parent involvement coordinator, two certified classroom teachers, an education coordinator and two paraprofessionals. All children in the program are transported to and from school by their parents.
